I've got to admit that this is a touchy topic. I acknowledge that rape is one of the worst crimes that could be committed. And like any other decent moral human being out there, I do think that rape victims do deserve society's full support while rapists should get one of the worst punishments out there. But I don't think that the child conceived in rape should get the death penalty or be punished for the crime of being conceived in rape, which is something that the child has no control over (and, as a religious person, I see the child being conceived from that horrific crime as G-d's decision).
Pro-life except for cases of rape and incest is a hypocritical viewpoint. From a legal perspective, the only reason to be pro-life is that the fetus is a human being. If the fetus is not a human being, then regardless of peoples' religious opinions, that decision should be left up to the woman. If the pro-choice position is right that the fetus is not an independant human life, then that movement will be right from a legal perspective. In other words, the pro-choice position, as morally repulsive as I find it, is more logically consistant than pro-life with the exceptions of rape and incest.
Pro-life with exceptions of rape and incest is a RINO (Republican in Name Only) position. It's the same type of hypocrisy that appeals to people like Donald Trump. As I said, a fetus is either human or it's not human. It doesn't cease being human once it's conceived in rape. Science does not make that distinction.
Rape and incest happen less than one percent of the time (one percent of abortion cases are rape, incest, and life of the mother). Leftists, while opposing the death penalty for rapists, use the case of rape and incest in order to justify abortions across the board. Leftists like to accuse Conservative Republicans of being hypocrities for being pro-life and for supporting death penalty. But I don't find it hypocrical because it's still consistant with the principle of protecting innocent life and punishing evil people. Leftists are the hypocrites here because they support the killing of helpless babies in the womb even for the mother's convenience while being opposed to the death penalty for some of the most evil mass murderers and criminals in society. And by being opposed to the death penalty for rapists and using the rape exception (that is advocating for the death penalty for the child in the womb because of how the child was conceived) to justify abortion for even the mother's conveniance is a glaring example that shows that leftists, not pro-life Conservatives Republicans, are the hypocrites in this issue, just like in any other issue (never mind that most rape victims who are pregnant from rape don't choose abortions and the ones who choose to raise their child have to deal with "pro-women" far-leftist feminists calling their children the "rapist's child," which shows that the agenda here is to promote abortion, not to help rape victims).
I could go all day citing Genesis 9:6 of the Hebrew Bible and its use of the phrase "Adam b' Adam (human within a human) to say why I think a fetus is human and that abortion is murder. But I'd rather use scientific arguments. For instance, if the baby in the womb is a male, the pregnant woman does not become both male and female. Her chromosomes are still XX, not XXXY. And if the baby is a female, her chromosomes don't become XXXX.
Also, the father and the mother each give 23 of their chromosomes to the child. The copy of the father's 23 chromosomes become part of the child, not of the mother carrying the child. The baby in the womb has his/her own DNA code, develops a heart, a brain, and an ability to feel pain. It's no secret that ultrasound shows that a fetus is a human life who can move around. Here is an example of a fetus crying (footage from the Disocovery Channel, not any Conservative Repulican source). Here is an example of a fetuses reacting to music (experiment taken by staff on the Discovery Channel, not pro-life Conservative Republicans). None of those two clips were about abortion, but they inevitably showed that the fetus is a human life independent of the mother. If fetuses can make movements reacting to music, then it shows that they're humans and not just a blobs of tissue. And even if they reacted to something else, the fact that babies in the womb makes those movements on their own shows that they're independant lives and not merely a part of the mother.
Does any of this change when the baby is conceieved in rape? No.That's not how science works. That's why I'm opposed to the rape and incest exception. The only exception I do support is if abortion is absolutely necessary to save the life of the mother (also less than one percent, as I stated above), since in that case the baby in the womb is directly threatening the mother's life. Unless the mother becomes suicidal as a result of being pregnant from rape (if abortion is absolutlely needed to stop the mother from committing suicide, I would throw that in with the life of the mother scenario, where the fetus is actually directly threatening the mother's life), the baby being conceived from rape and incest does not threaten the mother's life (again, most rape victims don't even choose abortion and some even choose to raise their child). Hence, pro-life with the exception of rape and incest is a hypocritical RINO opinion. It is selling out the most important principle that Conservatives (particularly religious Conservatives) stand for: the right to life. I believe that our rights come from G-d and that they descend from the right to live. In fact, the American Declaration of Independance says, "Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." In other words, life comes first. Then liberty. Then the pursuit of happiness. To say that the fetus is human and to oppose abortion except for rape and incest dehumanizes the baby in the womb who was conceived in those situations. It's even an admittance that you support the death penalty for babies for the crimes of their biological fathers. Because, as I said, a fetus is either human or not. A fetus is not human unless he/she is conceived from rape and incest.
