How important is my reputation?

How important is my reputation?

What is reputation?

1. the estimation in which a person or thing is held, especially by the community or the public generally; repute : a man of good reputation.

2. favorable repute; good name: to ruin one's reputation by misconduct.

3. a favorable and publicly recognized name or standing for merit, achievement, reliability, etc.:

to build up a reputation.

4. the estimation or name of being, having, having done, etc., something specified:

He has the reputation of being a shrewd businessman. (http://www.dictionary.com/browse/reputation)

The origin of this word derived from Middle English, Latin. The importance of reputation is paramount despite some absurd claims. I am a great believer that reputation provides good basis for many manifestations. Reputation enables role modelling for others to adopt in order to fulfill dreams, desires, goals. Reputation enables us to lead others in a manner of honor, dignity, humanitarian values, rights, in a manner of truth. Our reputation determines our quality of life. For example my reputation is everything to me. It doesn't have a price tag attached to it. Everything I do I do it wholeheartedly with some hiccups here and there. My reputation means living a life instead of fighting under the spell of accusations, slander and gossip. It used to hurt but I have developed a coping mechanism thanks to the greatest and the highest power of all.

The truth always comes out because of the Spirit of Truth no matter how you are trying to hide something it will be revealed to us all. Sometimes we don't even understand and the only way to understand is to look into the nature of revelations. Ask yourself why this is happening? My reputation is everything to me. It has always been the same. The deprivation of my reputation means stealing my status, robbing my life. It is equivalent to the same as killing me, taking my life away. No apology can ever reinstate the loss of the credible identity ‘my identity'. The society no matter where I am matters to me. I don't like poking my nose in other persons business unless he specifically asked me to help him. I like helping people but in unnoticeable ways.

Only few would claim they don't care about their reputation only because it makes them feel better. It is more like they calming themselves down with this thought. In actual reality most people care about their reputation. Many can debate but majority would agree with me. If someone says something about me I would want to know why they said it. What are their motives/agendas? A simple competition or a desire to fulfill their own selfishness feeding under the expense of someone's ‘heartache'?  How can we agree with this deprivation of life? How can we allow this to happen? A good reputation is more valuable than money. Publilius Syrus

I cannot forgive ‘life snutchers' it is the most coward crime against a human being

and should be dealth with.
