Just a few weeks back, England pulled off an amazing feat- they defeated Germany 3-2 which filled their fans with confidence for the upcoming UEFA Euro 2016 Football Championship. Their victory was even more memorable due to the way in which it was won.
England were trailing Germany 2-0 at the end of the first half of the match, which made it quite difficult to foresee what was coming in next. Harry Kane, substitute Jamie Vardy and Eric Dier turned the fate around for England in the second half by scoring a goal each, and leading England to a 3-2 victory thereby strengthening their hopes for Euro 2016.
However, it was a premature celebration. The momentum of England's stirring win over Germany a couple of days prior was not enough for their next match against Holland.Jamie Vardy scored the first goal of the match during the first half, giving England an early lead. However, thanks to the goals from Luciano Narsingh and Vincent Janssen, Holland made a comeback win over England. With this being the England's last game ahead of Euro 2016, the loss has definitely damped the effect of their win over Germany.
As far as the English Premier League is concerned, there are a couple of transfer related news that are making the rounds. Paris Saint-Germain (PSG)starZlatanIbrahimovic is believed to have received offers from several English clubs, although whether he will make this move or not is not certain yet. In response to this transfer news and rumours, two of his team mates have voiced their opinions. While Thiago Silva believes that it will be a step down for Ibrahimovicif he chooses to join the English Premier League, Angel Di Maria (who had flopped during his stint with Manchester United) is backing Ibrahimovic's move should he choose to do so.
It has also come to light that many prominent clubs of the English Premier League such as Manchester United, Chelsea, etc. are looking to get some fresh talent from other clubs. The rumours heading this transfer news is related to the following footballers: Eden Hazard, Kostas Manolas, RiyadMahrez, Marc-Andre TerStegen, Everton, etc.
Coming back to the upcoming Euro 2016, England fans are hopeful but cautious as well, given the country's history. England are the only European World Cup winning nation who have not lifted the Henri Delaunay Cup yet. They are also yet to reach a UEFA European Championship final, and the closest they came to it was in 1996(the year they hosted the event)when they lost to Germany in the semi-final in a penalty shoot-out at Wembley.
