Three tips on how you can read more books

Reading is a very rewarding experience. There are tons of books available at online bookstores in UK that will help you learn new things everyday. While academic books give insight to complex problems, leisure reading provides unparalleled relaxation.

Unfortunately, most of us do not have the time to read books as much as we had in our younger days. Between maintaining day jobs and running chores of our daily lives, we have very little time to pick up a book, much less read it. That said, some of the busiest people today are also avid readers. So how do they manage it? What is the secret to their reading habits? Let's find out.

1. Set small goals

We all have different ways of reading books. Some like to take in large chunks of the book at a time, others with a short attention span read no more than a couple of pages per session and some are in the habit of reading only at the weekend or during holidays. While that is fine, it does not help you make progress as much as setting small goals do. Make it a goal to read at least an entire chapter before putting the book aside. Gradually, increased the number of chapters you read before putting your book down. You will be surprised to find that at the end of the year your reading has increased substantially.

2. Carry your book everywhere

Order a couple of great books from an online bookstore in UK and make it a habit to carry at least a couple of them in your bag everywhere you go. You never know when you may come across a chance to pull out a book and read a couple of pages. Commuting from your home to office on the underground or in a bus can be pretty drab. Just plug in your earphones and sift through the pages of your favorite book - you will make it to your office before you know it and in a much relaxed state of mind too! Make smart use of your lunch and break times. Not only will you be more relaxed throughout the day, you'll also have read more than you imagined.

3. Be in company of booklovers

If you have fellow booklovers at your workplace or your neighborhood get in touch with them and find out what they are reading and how much progress they have made recently. This will give you a perspective of competitive reading, which is never bad. Also when you are in the company of other book readers you will be compelled to read rather than waste your time doing something else that you usually do.

 Happy reading!
