We love celebrating the 4th of July here on Daniel Island. Fireworks, cookouts, concerts – you name it! Not to mention that every house, fence, and light post is decorated with red, white, and blue decor. We take our patriotism a bit serious around here – we're even trying to be named the "Most Patriotic Town in America!"
Here are a few things going on this weekend in celebration of Independence Day.
Sunday, June 26 through Monday, July 4
Organized by the Exchange Club of Daniel Island, there is a "Field of Honor" (pictures above) on display on River Landing Drive between Seven Farms Drive and Children's Park. This display of over 250 American Flags celebrates and honors our military members and first responders. Take a moment to walk through this field and read the names of the men and women who sacrifice so much to protect our freedoms.
Thursday, June 30th ~ 6:30-8:00 pm
The U.S. Air Force's Blue Aces Band will be preforming at the Children's Park, overlooking the Wando River. This is not your typical military band – they play everything from The Beatles and Stevie Wonder to modern hits by Imagine Dragons and Kings of Leon. Grab a chair or blanket and come enjoy a free concert saluting our country's heros!
Sunday, July 3rd ~ 2:00-5:00 pm
Etiwan Park will host some pre-parade activities with face painting, water slides, balloon art, frozen treats and more! You'll also get a chance to experience Rick Hubbard and his All American Kazoobie Show from 2:00 – 3:00 pm.
Sunday, July 3rd ~ 5:00 pm
Daniel Island's annual 4th of July parade will begin at Etiwan Park and end at The Children's Park. This year it's bigger and better than ever, and you'll see The Palmetto Percussion Marching Band and an Honor Guard from Joint Base Charleston.
Sunday, July 3rd ~ 6:00-9:00 pm
Enjoy some great music and get into the festive spirit with the Charleston Community Band and the Andrew Thielen Big Band. Various food and drink vendors will have refreshments of all kinds available for purchase.

FIREWORKS!!! will begin at 9:00 pm. Get ready to relax and enjoy a fantastic show!
Monday, July 4th ~ 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
Of course, the 4th of July here on Daniel Island wouldn't be complete without the annual pool party at Pierce Park. Enjoy some fun pool games and delicious food provided by the Daniel Island Grille.
